This year’s ball is dedicated to Fred and Edna Stauber, residents of Alaska for over 61 years and avid supporters of the Miners & Trappers Ball. With Edna’s talent for sewing, they won many first place trophies. Our dear friend Fred passed away October 22, 2014 at the age of 95. We are very pleased that Edna will honor us by attending the 2015 ball.

Features of the Ball:
The State of Alaska Beard & Moustache Championships – the Beard Contest winner receives the title, “Mr. FUR FACE”. We want to invite/encourage bearded gents from across the state to come compete. The big Question to ask yourself??? Will you be the next MR. FUR FACE? There will be a first and second place prize in each Beard category plus the grand prize - the Mr. Fur Face Trophy, who will be selected from among the winners of each category. To see the categories go to The Event Brochure.

The Miners & Trappers Charity Ball also offers a Costume Contest. For any imaginable, conceivable creation one might wish to compete with or just wear for fun and excitement. Costumes are not required but most attendees like to wear them and make the ball a memorable experience. There are seven categories; the winning costume in each category receives a trophy/plaque. The best man, best woman, best couple, and the best group (that being 3 or more together) in every category, plus the potential for honorable mentions, as judges see fit will be recognized and photographed as such. The winners of each category will compete for the “GRAND PRIZE”. Costume will be chosen. To see the categories go to The Event/Costume Brochure.

Music and Dancing to a Live Band & DJ. A variety of music to suit most tastes for listening or dancing.

Hope to see you at the 65nd Annual Miners & Trappers Ball!!
